Blondie Tribute – Bootleg Blondie
BOOTLEG BLONDIE is The No.1 Deborah Harry and Blondie tribute band and are the only Blondie tribute to play at the Legendary CBGBs in New York City before it's sad closure in 2006. CBGBs was the Holy Grail of American Punk and New Wave, where the real Blondie first kicked off their career.
Debbie Harris and the boys are based in London and have met members of Blondie and been officially endorsed by the band. Deborah Harry got in touch when she heard we were playing CBGBs to wish us good luck with our show and both Deborah Harry and Chris Stein have signed our guitars. When Clem Burke, Blondie's charasmatic drummer, found out that we were making a replica of his Premier drum kit, he arranged for us to meet him and even signed our bass drum skin! The boys proudly use their signed instruments in our live shows.
Debbie Harris, lead vocalist of Bootleg Blondie, has the looks, the voice and the attitude of the original Blondie Bombshell and like her heroine is typically outrageous on stage. She has been known to wear dustbin liners, thigh length boots and t.shirts with more holes than t.shirt!Andy and Debbie with Blondie's drummer Clem Burke after signing Bootleg Blondie's bass drum skin!Debbie with Blondie's bass man Leigh Foxx Debbie with Blondie's keyboard player Kevin Patrick Debbie has appeared as a Deborah Harry look-a-like on TV and has also been featured in the The Sunday Observer newspaper, photographed by the famous rock photographer Kevin Cummins, who co-incidentally has worked with the real Deborah Harry and Blondie!
Debbie Harris is the niece of the singer and actress Shani Wallis best known for her portrayal of Nancy in Lionel Bart's musical film 'Oliver'! If you like Blondie, you'll love the Bootlegs!
