Dayton Grey – Soul and Motown Singer
Although he was a shy child, Dayton hails from a musical family, and was himself passionate about music. In his early years, he played drums in Church along with bass and acoustic guitar. He was also classically trained in piano.
But more than anything... he loved to sing.
With the demand for his authentic and polished 'Tribute To The Legends of Soul & Motown' solo show, he has been blessed to perform in some beautiful venues both in the UK and Internationally. Alongside this established show, in 2016 Dayton added a new show, 'For The Love Of Luther' - a beautiful homage to the globally acclaimed and well loved Soul and RnB singer, Luther Vandross.
This became a very popular choice for corporate events and ticketed shows, and is a something that Dayton loves to perform.
The same year Dayton was chosen to support Ray Lewis, former lead singer of Motown group The Drifters with his band 'Still Drifting', at a beautiful venue in Hampshire. It was a huge success, and Ray has since asked Dayton to share the stage with him on several occasions, both as a backing singer and being trusted with lead vocals. Dayton considers performing with one of his musical inspirations to be the highlight of his career so far!

Following Dayton's group performance of Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye, he said 'That wasn't music... that was like a massage! I feel like my ears have been on a spa weekend! Dayton enjoyed every moment, and had amazing response from the general public.
On 16th November 2021, Dayton released an original track, a collaboration with writer and producer Alex Lloyd. A smooth, soul track with a nostalgic Philadelphia Soul influence, 'He Won't Love You Like I Do' went straight to number 1 in both the Amazon 'Best Selling New Release Chart' and 'RnB Chart'! It is still available to download from all major music platforms.
Their 2nd offering is called 'Love Is On The Line', was released on January 7th 2022, achieving the same success. It became very popular with lovers of the Philadelphia Soul Sound, and collectors called for it to be released on Vinyl. T
