Jay James, the former military man, discovered his passion for music on sick leave from the Navy. His auditions had the Judges either up on their feet or reaching for the tissues. Jay left the competition in week six (Big Band). After he sang against Stevi in the Sing Off the Judges took the decision to Deadlock and it was revealed he got the least number of public votes.
