Wirral Brass Band

Wirral Brass Band was established in February 2010 by two Tuba players, Scott Lloyd and Pete Smith. Pete lives on the Wirral and has 25 years on brass banding experience whilst Scott spent his playing career in the Army. They both started playing in school for the St. David’s High School Band in Wrexham. After leaving school they went their separate ways only to play again at the start of 2009 for Wrexham Brass in North Wales. By the summer of that year Scott was conducting the Wirral Symphonic Wind Band (WSWB) and Pete was playing Principle Tuba. Already the plans for a contesting brass band based on the Wirral Peninsular, were forming.
